This is a very simple word but in the context of a control panel/console, I don't think "button" is right. It's also not an "indicator" since it seems to be something you actually press/touch ("touch button"?).

I slightly prefer "push button" to "button" as it emphasizes its physical nature. OTOH, it's only a slight preference and I would know what was meant if I saw "button" on its own.

: Agree - Don't see at all why 'button' would be incorrect. Whether it's a mechanical button or a touchpad button, it's still a 'button'.
