English term or phrase: hits
Aus einer Beschreibung der tollen, tollen Grafik des American Football Simulators /Backbreaker/:

In this game, you're seeing the collisions and the joints and the hits of the players all physically simulated so that no two hits are ever exactly the same.

Und was sind hits? Wie heißen die auf Deutsch?

Zusammenstöße
Explanation:

Treffer

Explanation:
http://german.about.com/library/blsport.htm
tried a few pages on American Football and even Germany can boast some Football clubs, so this would be the general term, however, I would wait for some profis to confirm or deny

Zusammenprallen

Explanation:
Not my game....
but it is my understanding that a "hit" in football is when the players crash into each other?
As I said, not my game.... :-)

Attacken

Explanation:
Attacken oder Angriffe

Late Hit
