Greetings, and many thanks for the excellent help,
Incidentally, it is interesting how you change the word order in songs and poems - I imagine that in prose you would say मेरी रूह में झाँके, wouldn't you?
Anyway, my real problem is with झाँके. I suppose it’s a verb form, is it? It’s not one I've come across if so. Is it equivalent to झॉता है (looks) or झॉ रहा है (is looking) or something else, please?

Regarding your note: Yes it is a gentle, polite request to peep into my soul. The plural form itself is used in Hindi to mark respect. When a singular subject is addressed in plural form, either as tum or as aap, it signifies respect. Tum indicates more intimacy and familiarity, whereas aap is the formal respectful version.
Note that the correct spelling has a nasal tone to it, झाकें, and not झाके. The bindi serves the grammatical function of indicating plurarlity in Hindi words, example है is singular, हैं is plural.

It the above, झांके is third person singular, and not as I had said in the above note, which I wrote without seeing the actual text of the song you have posted. I am sorry. Referring to your valuable comments, I have found this tense:
SINGULAR
1 मैं चलूँ
2 तू चले
3 वह चले
PLURAL
1 हम चलें
2 तुम चलो
3 वे चले
The second person singular of this tense ends in -e, so is that the tense of झाँके, please? If so, it would be a gentle but familiar request, wouldn't it?
