English term

tricked-out

English to Chinese Tech/Engineering IT (Information Technology) online storage services
It’s still shrouded in secrecy, but Google’s free storage service is headed for the Web next year. Still, if the so-called Gdrive becomes as rapidly popular as the company’s e-mail service has in the past three years, what happens to your secrets? The prospect of a massive, speedy and {tricked-out} online hard drive already has privacy experts and illegal downloaders alike worried—especially if all that data is in the hands of a third-party giant and its cash cow to compete with Apple and Microsoft.

Discussion

CHEN-Ling Dec 15, 2007:
我觉得“tricked-out ”并不专指功能而言。即便其相应的中文无法在感情色彩上和“massive”、“ speedy ”对应,也不能损失其原有的意义。
clearwater (asker) Dec 13, 2007:
英文词典上的解释如下:
tricked-out
decorated in a particular way; "tricked-out cupboards looking like Georgian cabinets"
a massive, speedy and tricked-out online hard drive处理成:容量大、速度快、功能强的在线硬盘,不知是否合适?

extreme high of quality;absolute best and coolest——根据这个解释,不妨用“极酷”“酷毙”的,但和massive和speedy相较,带有太强的感情色彩。“超好的”、“超强的”、“超酷的”怎样?

我又想到了一个:超炫的。好像网上用的很多。
Note from asker:
谢谢!字面意思确实如此。但用“豪华的/完美的”来修饰online hard drive 总觉得有点怪怪的。会不会是“功能强的”之意呢?

neutral rchan : haven't ever heard that term before, but 新式的 seems a bit odd for the context.
