German term
Ciprofloxacinhydrochlorid 1 H2O
German to English
Medical
Medical: Pharmaceuticals
My problem here is the "1 H2O" at the end.
This comes from the "Qualitative and Quantitative Composition" section of an SPC.
1 Filmtablette enthält XXXXXmg Ciprofloxacinhydrochlorid 1 H2O
An English SPC for the same product simply writes:
Each tablet contains XXXXXmg ciprofloxacin hydrochloride.
--No mention of the "1 H2O"
I have found a good reference text that says:
"Ciprofloxacin is commercially available for topical (ophthalmic and otic) administration as ciprofloxacin hydrochloride, which is the monohydrochloride monohydrate of the drug."
But how would I correctly write this in my SPC:
"Each tablet contains XXXXmg ciprofloxacin hydrochloride (monohydrochloride form)" ???
Any ideas....

Selected
Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride x 1 H2O
The easiest option would be to pretty much copy the German and write "Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride x 1 H20" (x should actually be a bullet point and means times).
Another option would be "Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride monohydrate".
"Monohydrochloride" would be wrong, as this would mean 1 HCl.
