Mounted and dismounted patrols
Greetings.
In US Army "military English," the current equivalent terms are "mounted patrols" (the troops are riding inside tactical vehicles) mounted in and "dismounted patrols"
(The patrolling troops are moving on foot, and the term applies whether they started and completed their patrol on foot all along or they went part of the patrol route in vehicles and then dismounted to continue the rest of their route on foot).
Hope this helps.
Khair, in shaa' Allah.
