Se trata de un manual de calidad de productos de petróleo. Contexto (es el mismo párrafo de mi pregunta anterior):
"Blocking tendency is an important quality criterion for waxes, especially those used in various paper and paperboard coating applications. Blocking occurs at moderately warm temperatures when waxed surfaces stick together or block. If the surfaces of waxed paper block, the surface appearance, gloss, and barrier properties are destroyed when the papers are separated. The blocking and **picking points** indicate the temperature range at which waxed film surfaces become damaged if contact is made."

El blocking y picking points son respectivamente, la temperatura en que se fusionan dos láminas recubiertas de cera y la temperatura por encima de la cual las superficies de contacto quedan afectadas al ser separadas. Es importante esta propiedad por ejemplo, cuando se trata de un rollo de papel encerado.

En un glosario sobre el papel encontré:
Picking - Fibers in the paper that tend to pull away from the surface during the printing process. This occurs when the tack or pull of the ink is greater than the surface strength of the paper.
En el diccionario técnico Routledge figura como "arrancado", o imlcuso "repelado".
No me convencen tanto "punto de arrancado/repelado".
