Discussion

Kevin Fulton (asker) Dec 21, 2006:
Parallel activities The "parallel" activities are other money-saving measures, such as outsourcing some CAD activities to India.
Oliver Walter Dec 21, 2006:
In the CAD context, FE is very likely Finite Element. It might help to know what was happening "parallel" with this. If they are people, FE-Berechner might be users of the CAD's FE facilities.
Kevin Fulton (asker) Dec 21, 2006:
I think these are employees These FE Berechner are located in a certain division of a specified country, so I would assume the term refers to people performing this function.
David Moore (X) Dec 21, 2006:
I almost agree with Sybille, but am surprised to note "finite element calculaTOR" gains no google hits AT ALL, while the "... calculation" has close to 180,000, which is why I'm not committing myself...Could it possibly be a typo? (Berechner/ung)?

finite element analysts

Might be a possibility. I'm sure these are engineers/mathematicians who run the FE calculations.

I don't know much about CAD, but a search for "CAD" and "format effector" does throw up a few hits.

finite-element solver

I think it might be referring to the software used to perform the FE calculations. Returns 43k google hits.
