Baseline incomplete apposition (IA) is defined as > 1 stent strut not apposed to the vessel wall at the time of postprocedural IVUS. Specifically, IA can be classified as:
* Resolved: At follow-up IVUS (neointimal hyperplasia has closed the gap between the stent struts and the vessel wall).
* Persistent IA, in which there is no change from baseline IVUS to follow-up IVUS regarding the location and size of the gap.
Late IA occurs when the stent is well apposed to the vessel wall at the postprocedural IVUS but is noted to have IA at the time of follow-up IVUS.
