From an article about Venice for a tourist magazine:

Sono le cosidette “residenze d’epoca”...inserite tra gli affittacamere o i b&b, ma [che] in realtà rappresentano lussuose locations di un turismo romantico...

I understand "affittacamere" can mean "landlord" (but clearly not here). My best guess for it in context is "guesthouse", but I am looking for the most correct term. Some of the websites of these "affittacamere" call themselves simply hotels.

Explanation:
Vicino alla stazione di Venezia se prendi la prima calle a sinistra c'e un panello con scritto" rooms for rent" che non sono i "Bed &Breakfast" ma solo affitacamere che di solito non hanno anche la colazione.
Sono sicura che non si trovano solo a Venezia ma anche in altre citta turistiche:)
