French term

vision prospective

French to English Bus/Financial Human Resources
"Vision prospective" is listed under the "Skills" heading of a job description. There is no context. I know what they mean, but I just can't seem to think of a concise term. I was thinking about "forward-thinking", but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

forward-looking

Hi Laura,
I would tend to say "forward-looking", resolutely turned to the future, that sort of thing, but that's probably just my personal preference. :-)

prospective vision

*** suivant le contexte j'aurais tendance à mettre "vision" tout court car c'est à la limite du pléonasme

proactive attitude

Not sure about "attitude", but this is how I would translate "forward-thinking" into bureaucratese. "Takes the initiative" is how they used to say it. Kind of depends on how high the job level in the hierarchy is, because you use different terminology to describe hands-on, middle, and upper management jobs.

"Vision", again for US, is something I would relate either to sales or to "strategic vision", that would of course be something pretty high up.

disagree df49f (X) : proactive # prospective - proactive pourrait correspondre au français "volontariste", mais n'a rien à voir avec le concept de prospective
