'proximology' appears to be used only or mainly by pharma companies to describe the role of family members in patient care.
If you don't want to use this limited neologism, you'd have to use more words, e.g 'supplementary study in the role of family members in patient care' - but this would leave out non-family members (friends, unmarried partners) from the overall description...
