Mycosis fungoides is an epidermotropic variant of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. The most notable histologic features in the plaque stage include a broad, band-like, cellular lymphoid infiltrate involving the densely fibrotic superficial dermis (arrows, Panel A). The lymphoid cells are small to medium in size and contain hyperconvoluted nuclei. The epidermis is involved when atypical lymphocytes form multiple nonspongiotic aggregates of Pautrier's microabscesses
