English term

bring the speedster to the line

English to French Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation cyclisme
Je reformule ma question, ma première phrase comptait plus de 10 mots, ce qui est apparemment contraire à la règle:

dans la phrase: He can be counted on by his teammates to bring the speedsters to the line for a mass-sprint or drive the buch into the gutter on cold, wet and windy days in the north of Europe. Merci d'avance.

Windy days in the north of Europe - probably talking about the spring classics that are taking place at the moment - the Tour of Flanders (last weekend), Paris-Roubaix (next weekend), etc.

bunch - le peleton

Who is the text talking about BTW?

The person in question could be a "lead-out man", protects the sprinter in his team until it is time to launch the sprint.

The spring classics are run over cobbles in northern France and Belgium, often in terrible conditions - swirling dust or boggy mud - and are considered hard mens' races.

List below:

02.04.2006 Ronde van Vlaanderen / Tour des Flandres Belgium
05.04.2006 Gent - Wevelgem Belgium
09.04.2006 Paris - Roubaix France
16.04.2006 Amstel Gold Race Netherlands
19.04.2006 La Flèche Wallonne Belgium
23.04.2006 Liège - Bastogne - Liège Belgium
