In our quest to help customers seize these opportunities, Sun is engineering all of our products around what we call "the 3 big bets":
1. The need to build for massive scalability.
2. Requirement to deliver continuous real time access.
3. Delivering systems with integrated hardware and software stacks.
The software stack is key to the Net Effect. Sun recently introduced Sun Open Net Environment software architecture, or Sun ONE. Sun ONE is about building applications for smart, web services using open, scalable, standard based architecture. In April, we held SunTech Days in Beijing and several other cities to explore the components of Sun ONE with the developers. Many of the components, such as Solaris, Cluster, Java (J2EE and J2ME), Forte, iPlanet are here today. Sun, together with software partners, will continue to add new tools and technologies to the Sun ONE architecture. I encourage you to join any one of our Sun ONE events in the next few months to learn more about this architecture.
