English term or phrase: gut-wagon
A woman says to a man after bathing him:

Honey, you was smellin' bad enough to gag a dog of a gut-wagon.

I know what it means, but I would like to know what is exactly a gut-wagon, and what's its translation into Spanish, if any?

"hueles como .."
Explanation:
Hola Pablo!

Puedes completarlo como quieras, ya que no creo que haya una frase hecha en español.
Ej: hueles como:
vagón de tripas podridas,
la misma m.....",
etc etc.

"to gag a dog of a gut-wagon"
"to knock a cat off a gut wagon"

Son diferentes acepciones que significan que algo tiene un olor tan pero tan malo, como un "vagón de tripas"
que hasta haría vomitar a un perro y liquidar a un gato.

Supongo que recibirás miles de sugerencias!!!

Thanks, Gabriela. So a gut wagon is just that, a wagon full of guts! That's what I needed. I wanted to know if, as it is a western, a gut wagon was some kind of special wagon that was used to transport some kind of stinking waste matter... Obviously, I'll find something else that really sounds Spanish. Thanks everybody else for your suggestions, they were all good.

tenias un olor asqueroso (con tilde en la i)

Explanation:
Hola! Hi !

Eso de vagon de tripas, etc. me parece bien pero un paco raro en espanol.
A veces no podemos traducir las palabras tal como son en ingles.

Sometimes we just cannot translate literally, but translate the "idea".
"tenias un olor asqueroso" es algo neutro, porque hay maneras de decir esto con mas enfasis, o con mas clase, o con un popco de vulgaridad, o hasta con amor... se los dejo a su imaginacion.
Un saludo para todos ustedes!

"Cariño, olías a rayos".
Hola Pablo, creo que esta expresión capta un poco el sentido de la frase.
Espero que te sirva.

Olías peor que el camión del matarife

Explanation:
I remember the smell of the knacker's lorry when it used to pass through town - the stink lasted for hours. I think this may be the meaning of 'gut wagon'.

Of course, if it is western, and they do not have motor vehicles yet, it would be 'el carro del matarife'

Could be something like 'Olías como hacer vomitar al perro del matarife' too. But I think if you try to fit in both 'dog' and 'wagon', the sentence is going to be way too long
