What\'s so strange about Administration? It\'s one of the Russian meanings. Look in any dictionary. We (USA) have the Food and Drug Adminstration, Federal Aviation Administration, etc. What do ya\'ll have in England? But feel free to change Administration to anything you want, the sun will still rise in the morning. As I have always said with regard to translation, nothing is cast is stone! Look at how many versions of the Bible there are!!! We\'re suppose to translate ideas, thoughts, feelings, hearts, etc. - not stupid words . Oh, well, I guess I\'m too old for this sh.t! Maybe I should keep my mouth shut!!....

  -> Good question. In Stalin's to pre-neoRussia time, УПРАВЛЕНИЕ was translated rather universally, by the relatively few of us Russian translators as Administration [Main Administration = Glav, Glavu, Glavupra, etc.]. I guess it has stayed with me.

agree  Vladimir Spiridonov: Английские варианты струткту кончаются на агествах, управления и их отделы идут на русском. Управление геол.. стоит между Агентствои и отделами управления. Может быть назвать DIISIONS?

neutral  Jack slep: I like it, Vlad, but subsurface it preferred to subterranean water and facility is something that performs a particualr function, whereas structure is anything built by man - vague enough to cover everything!

  -> you may be right, however: 'subsurface' (of what surface?:-)), re. structure: they prob. mean mines and facilities alike. 'subsurface structures' sounds like some SF :-) (something under the Moon/Mars surface..but I am a SF freak so it can be personal:-))
