One of those sentences that don't admit of piece-by-piece translation. Take it as a whole, and think about the problems that can occur with laser printers: "When office laser printers are used: logos in non-printing margins; faded rules [or "ruled lines"]; type sizes that aren't stored in the PC, etc."

(A note on "type sizes": The sizes of printed characters are measured in _points_, with 1 point = 1/72 inch. "Twelve-point-type," for instance, refers to characters that are 1/6 inch high (not including ascenders and descenders, such as the "tails" of lower-case 'p', 'q', et al., and the "stems" of lower-case 'b', 'd', et al.). Often, the character-generation program in a text editor or word-processing program doesn't include versions of the font that are present in the memory of the printer.)
