What does "Im Auftrage" mean at the end of letter after "Mit freundlichen Grüßen" mean?

Per procurationem is a Latin phrase meaning that you are signing the letter on somebody else\'s behalf; if they are not there to sign it themselves, etc. I have never seen it used apart from in translations from German, and \"i.A.\" is used all over the place in German, so I would simply leave it out.

Authorized signature.


Explanation:

Doesn't disclose whether it is by authorization from the employer (or etc.) and/or the signature is a substitute signature for an individual who has authorized the signer to sign for him. This can be extremely important in legal cases, e.g. when the authorizer becomes unavailable (due to death or etc.).
