plateaux TV

Non-PRO French to English Art/Literary Cinema, Film, TV, Drama Film-making/cinema
The above phrase was taken from the text below. I am having problems trying to find any reference sources so any suggestions would be welcomed! :0)

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

TV studios

I think this is just another word for studios. It can also refer to an actual set/stage in a studio, but here it's being used in a more general sense.

neutral Pierre Renault : "Studio" (TV or otherwise) includes the entire production company in the definition. MGM is a studio, so is Hannah-Barbera.

stage

I know I said I agree on the other answer, but... GDT says : stage

(television) soundstage

Soundstage, when it for cinema or television. Regular stage (non-sound) studios are practically no longer being used (exceptions: China, India) because movies are shot direct-sound today, rather than shot with the sound to be performed and added later. In China, for example, the sounds (the fight sounds, usually) are added later so the "stage" does not have to be quiet.

In other words, a special room for making movies. There is usually a catwalk for the ceiling lights. the room is huge (bigger than football fields), insulated for noise, etc.

TV set

One thing are the studios, and another the "plateau" = set (not as an appliance, but where people are interviewed, etc.).

"We were on the set, live......", etc.
