French term or phrase: Cycle des apprentissages fondamentaux
I know that this is a basic 3 year learning program that is followed in France for children from the Nursery section onwards, But I would like to know whether there is an equivalent in English, if not should I leave the term as it is or translate?
Thank you for your suggestions.

Thank you Natalie. I had also narrowed it down to this after I had found a few relevent hits on Google.

Thank you to all the others who contributed. I had first left it in French with a footnote but the client wanted it translated.

Explanation:
"L'école élémentaire comprend cinq classes réparties en deux cycles : le cycle des apprentissages fondamentaux, qui commence en grande section de maternelle et se poursuit durant les deux premières années de l'école élémentaire (cours préparatoire, cours élémentaire 1ère année); le cycle des approfondissements, qui comprend les trois dernières années d'école (cours élémentaire 2ème année, cours moyen 1ère année, cours moyen 2ème année) avant l'entrée au collège."

This is the last year at Nursery school + CP (cours préparatoire + cours élémentaire 1ère année).
I would leave it as such and explain in a footnote (with equivalent levels in your country)

Leave it in French

Explanation:
The term appears in French in numerous Google articles written in English. A fairly general translation would be Basic Learning Cycle, but if you want something more specific you would have to look at the Education system of the particular English-speaking country in question to find the nearest equivalent.

Good luck!

Of course, this is not a "proper" answer (I don't know of any specific term which corresponds to the first three or four years of Primary School in the UK), but it is how it is colloquially presented.

Explanation:
A bit vague, but you could add detail. ("Cycle" doesn't seem to me to be very natural in this context.)
