Source text - English Radio is especially important for promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women. From pioneering executives in the early 20th century to those today reporting from conflict zones, women have played a key role in the growth of radio. As citizen journalists, reporters, producers, technicians and key decision-makers, women are working at every level of the broadcasting industry to ensure the free exchange of opinion, information and ideas over the airwaves.
But there is still much work to do. Less than one quarter of radio stories are about women, and women represent less than one third of all top level management and governance positions in media. Without the voices of more than half the world’s population, how can we understand the whole story?
Translation - Portuguese O rádio é especialmente importante para a promoção da igualdade de gênero e para o empoderamento de mulheres. De executivas pioneiras do início do século XX às repórteres atuando hoje em dia em áreas de conflito, as mulheres têm assumido papel decisivo no crescimento do rádio. Como cidadãs jornalistas, repórteres, produtoras, técnicas e tomadoras de decisão, as mulheres estão trabalhando em cada nível da indústria da radiofusão para garantir a livre troca de opiniões, informações e ideias pelas ondas do rádio.
Mas ainda há muito a ser feito. Menos de um quarto das notícias do rádio é sobre mulheres, e mulheres representam menos do que um terço de todos os cargos de nível administrativo e de governança na mídia. Sem as vozes de mais da metade da população do mundo, como podemos entender todos os lados da história?

Inquieto, múltiplo, sereno, disperso, centrado, egoísta, coletivo... uma saudade, um lamento, uma alegria intensa, uma boa ideia, a paixão de um casal, uma meditação... que formas assumiriam os pensamentos se fossem dotados de matéria visível?
Em exercício imaginativo, exploro formas abstratas em aquarela e caneta nanquim, que, após digitalizadas, são aplicadas sobre fotografias de paisagens celestes.
É olhando para cima que se procura o pensamento lançado. Pouco importa a língua na qual originou-se o pensamento, sua essência é universal. Comunica-se entre as diferentes nações, entre diferentes espécies de seres, em uma grande rede invisível ao olho físico.
Nesse cenário, a série Formas Pensamento propõe uma reflexão sobre a qualidade de nossos pensamentos, sua força e influência em nosso cotidiano. O espectador é convidado a criar e a imaginar quais formas ele próprio estaria produzindo, guiando, assim, a influência de suas ideias sobre o pensamento coletivo.
Translation - English Thought Shapes
Restive, multiple, serene, scatterbrained, focused, self-centered, collegial... homesickness, a lament, intense joy, a good idea, love between a couple, a meditation... which shapes would thoughts take up if they were made of visible matter?
In an imaginative exercise, I explore abstract shapes in watercolor and ink that are scanned and then layered onto photographs of celestial landscapes.
We direct our gaze upward in the hopes of reaching for our flights of fancy. The essence of thought is universal, regardless of the language that informed it. It is transmitted among different nations and different species of beings, in a great network invisible to the physical eye.
In this scenario, the series Thought Shapes proposes a reflection about the quality of our thoughts, their strength and weight in our daily lives. The observer is invited to create and imagine which shapes they would be producing themselves, thus guiding the influence of their own ideas upon the collective thought.
