Bio
Hello! First of all, thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.

I am a native Italian Translator and I work with the following language pairs:
English to Italian
Spanish to Italian
French to Italian

I studied English, French and Spanish at an Italian "Liceo Linguistico" in Rome, and in 1998 I was awarded a Diploma in Language Studies with a final grade of 58/60.

I then went on to further improve my language skills by completing a Degree in Interpreting and Translation at the Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators (SSLMIT), University of Bologna. For my thesis, I translated into Italian and analysed a corpus of folk songs in Southern Italian dialect from Puglia. My final grade was 105/110.

Since graduating in 2004 my life has taken many different paths, but I have always kept practising my language and translation skills in my free time; for example, by translating articles for charitable organisations and, more recently, for my own blog in English about Italy.

I am a registered Italian Community Interpreter for my local City Council, and in 2013 I completed a distance-learning course in Literary Translation with the Italian publisher Leconte.

I am a meticulous and resourceful person, and I use these qualities in everything I do.

Many regards,

Paola Maria Sileno
