Thanks in advance!

Comment: "In the end I went with this translation, because this is a back translation, so anything that's archaic or more general should be translated as such so it can be fixed in the ES>EN translation, which is the point of this work. In a normal translation, I would have been more likely to choose preeclampsia."

pre-eclampsia
Pre-eclampsia (also preeclampsia, without hyphen) is the most common term now used in English for this disorder, also known as toxemia of pregnancy, or gravidic toxemia. Preeclampsia and eclampsia are hypertensive disorders of pregancy.
The word "gravidic" means "occurring in pregnancy" or "relating to pregnancy or a pregnant woman." Lots of links to citations for this can be found here: https://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/gravidic
From a research paper published in the International Journal of Science and Research (IJSR):
"Pre-eclampsia (toxemia of pregnancy, dysgravidia,
eclampticgestosis) represents the first cause of morbidity
and mortality, both maternal and fetal."

Preeclampsia is the currently accepted and most preferred medical terminology.
The following terms are used interchangeably and can be considered synonymous but according to some, there are distinctions (usually relating to degree of severity): gestosis, gestational hypertension, pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH), toxemia, toxemia of pregnancy, gravidic pregnancy, pre-eclampsia

: Toxemia gravídica is a generic term. Translation should not be a specific condition - out of some others within that broader category. Regarding technical documents and technical terminology - not to mention compliance issues - it is not advisable.

I think this choice will depend on context that we don't have. I think it is unlikely that the more general condition is meant, but there is a chance.

Gestosis
The term "pre-eclampsia" is one specific type of gestosis.
"Three classifications of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), of the Organization of Gestosis (OG) and of the International Society for Study of Hypertension in Pregnancy (ISSHP) differ among one another in some essential points. According to ACOG the term "preeclampsia" means a state with hypertension and albuminuria or edema, according to ISSHP--hypertension and albuminuria. This may lead to serious misunderstanding as many obstetricians use this term to identify a directly threatening eclampsia attack. But the two classifications do not provide a term for such a condition whereas according to OG this state is identified as threatening eclampsia. The OG and ACOG classifications give a classifications according to the progression of the disease, the ISSHP does not give such a classification. ISSHP does not consider edema as a symptom, ACOG takes it into consideration if it is accompanied by hypertension according to OG the very edema not subsiding after relaxation is enough to diagnose gestosis E. ISSHP has introduced the term "hypertension in pregnancy", but also includes one-symptom form "pregnancy albuminuria" not accompanied by hypertension. Such terms suggest lack of etiological relation between those forms, which has not however been proved. The names of one-symptom forms according to OG "gestosis H" and "gestosis P" do not impose such a relation (it is a classification according to symptoms), but they do not exclude it. Contrary to ACOG and OG, ISSHP gives the level of diastolic blood pressure only"

Another nice study to understand it:

Ps: Preeclampsia - hyphenless according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

: It's not that simple as the terms are legitimately used both as synonyms (even within medical field) and with particular distinctions. Asker has more context and can use best judgment, but maybe it's safest to go with the cognate gravidic toxemia.

Discussion
An outdated medical term for pre-eclampsia is toxemia of pregnancy, a term that originated in the mistaken belief that the condition was caused by toxins.
