Dear colleagues
I am translating a document from English to Swedish but the original language i Slovak and I haves some problems understanding what certain avibriations stand for. Unfortuntely according to the project rules I have to find the equivalent for them in my own Language. I the sentance bellow I can not find wha ÚCHD means.
4. ‘Analysis of the current state of procurement, compilation and evaluation of the TED in connection with the zoning planning documentation’, ÚCHD Assignment 0-C1-16 (processed by Ing. A. Kollárová, Ing. A. Horská) 1982

Selected
Institute of Road Management and Transport
It is exact translation of official Slovak name. I choose transport instead of transportation as we have Ministry of Transport.

Above proposed solution of use of Slovak abbreviation with English description is acceptable. "ÚCHD (Institute of Road Management and Transport)"

It stays for "Ústav cestného hospodárstva a mestkej dopravy", what means "Institute of Road Management and City Transportation".
I would probably use "ÚCHD (Institute of Road Management and City Transportation)"

: Ale ponechal by som pôvodnú skratku : "ÚCHD (Ústav cestného hospodárstva a mestskej dopravy - Institute of Road Management and City Transportation)" s odkazom ´ďalej ako UCHD´. Pozn. ten ústav sa v období 1982 volal presne tak, ako uvádza Michal

Ústav cestovného hospodárstava dopravy = ÚCHD
I do not see word "mestskej dopravy" = city pransport
or " management "
http://82.117.128/zoznam.php?detail_num=74358&vers=38lang
or Institute of Road and Transport

Discussion
Ten svedsky ustav vyzera dobre, to by mohlo byt ono. Len s tym rozdielom, ze u nas sa rozlisuje medzi ustavmi a vyskumnymi ustavmi. Cize "Slovak Road and Transport Research Institute" . Vzhladom na kulturny kontext /preklad do svedstiny/ by to slo.

Pokial ide o road management je tu napriklad americky casopis Road Management Journal http://www.usroads.com/journals/p/rmj/9712/rm971202.htm a sekcia (prekvapko) britskeho Department for Transport zaoberajuca sa road management http://www.dft.gov.uk/topics/road-management/.
Pokial ide priamo o road management, nasiel som dokonca americky casopis, ktory sa vola Road Management Journal.
