Russian term or phrase: Who was divorced from the applicant?
In a court case, a woman is applying to a court to have her missing ex-husband declared absent and of unknown whereabouts.
It appears that she was divorced in 1999, but from the wording, the person from whom she was divorced seems to be the second of two witnesses. I do not believe this, I think it is just badly worded, but would like confirmation of this. Here is the passage:

Как установлено в судебном заседании заявительница прекратила семейные отношения с [мужем] в 1994 году; с этого времени он по ее месту жительства в городе ХХХ, ул. ХХХ, дом ХХ не стал проживать, что подтвердил свидетели А и Б; последний проживал в городе ХХХ по разным адресам и в 1999 году брак между ним и заявительницей был расторгнут.

Explanation:
As you assume it's just bad wording. However, the punctuation here (";" after "свидетели А и Б") allows us to be sure that the word "последний" ("the latter") refers to the husband, but not to any of the witnesses. In other words, the witnesses only confirmed the fact, but the husmand is a distinct person.

Thank you, that's what I thought. The original is a poor copy of a typed letter, not clear if the punctuation is a semi-colon or a colon.
