Hi, I'm trying to verify which translation of omsetning works best here - in this case below it seem closer to "sale" but other instances which refer to the EN version of the original directive translate it as "placing on the market" Is there a general, underlying concept to keep in mind when translating omsetning?- as you know it is often "turnover" "sales" "revenue" when used in financial reports, also "interaction" in medical phrases.

Variations As an underlying principle, I think 'circulation' is the concept, but I think that the translation can vary according to the context, even within the same document, English being "richer" than Norwegian. Thus, in the particular sentence you have selected, 'supply chain' would fit well.

sales, trade etc. are all options, but in the examples you provide, I think I would choose retail.
