Italian term

foglia argento decapé

Italian to English Other Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)
describing an iron bed hand-decorated with "foglia argento decapé". I know it's some kind of silver leaf but for the "decapé" bit I'm not sure. Pickled isn't too convincing as that seems to be just for wood... Any ideas?

thank you to everyone, I really don't know which answer to choose here as am still not sure what exactly is meant. I left the French term in the translation too in the end.
