German term or phrase: Schalengreifer
"An die Krane lassen sich entsprechend des Einsatzgebietes (Müll / Schlacke) sowohl Mehrschalen- wie Zweischalengreifer anschlagen".

The only thing for "Schalengreifer" that comes close here is the term "clam shell gripper". But that is usually an open gripper (for instance for lumber) and is not meant for transporting waste, ashes or slag. Simply a "shell gripper" also doesn't sound right. I have also been unable to find anything in Ernst or with the Leo website.

Any ideas are welcome, preferably with a reference.
