French term

la zone de linéarité est rompue

French to English Science Mathematics & Statistics Vitamin supplement concentrations
FR = La concentration plasmatique aujourd’hui considérée comme optimale est celle pour laquelle la zone de linéarité entre l’apport et la concentration plasmatique est rompue et le pouvoir antioxydant est maximal.
EN = Currently, optimal plasma concentrations are considered to be those at which there is no linearity between intake and plasma concentration, and the antioxidant potential is at maximum levels.

The suggestion of no linearity is a complete guess. Any statistics fans able to help?
Thank you!

Thanks! That sounds perfectly logical in my context. There was a linear relationship between the two parameters up to a certain point.
DLyons Mar 30, 2013:
That's absolutely correct Nikki. I read the French as saying the former.
Nikki Scott-Despaigne Mar 30, 2013:
I'm not what you might call a "fan" of stats, but I have done a teeny weeny little bit of stats. That aside, there is a difference which may be important in context (or not) between saying (literally) that an area of linearity has been broken and that there is no linearity. In the former, it is clear that one has existed; that is not apparent in the latter.
