English term

well-wash

English Tech/Engineering Metallurgy / Casting steel industry
The term is used together with "slag inclusions", that is, nonmetallic solids entrapped in solid metal. Can anyone explain, what well-wash is, and give some links to additonal sources about the subject?

Part of the problem is that both well-wash and cap-off (your other query) seem to be associated with well drilling ratgher than steel casting.

Context: This question has been already asked on the English - Polish forum. The difficulty lies in lack of context. Nobody's answered it yet on the forum.
David Sirett Jun 8, 2006:
Can you give us the actual textual context (sentence...)?
