The filing basis of a REP to the US is Section 66(a) of the US Trademark Act. The Section 66(a) filing basis cannot be combined with any other US filing basis. Section 66(a) requires transmission of a REP by the International Bureau (IB) to the USPTO and cannot be added or substituted as a basis in an application originally filed with the USPTO under Section 1 or Section 44 of the Trademark Act.
