Danish term

spejling

Danish to English Social Sciences Psychology
This refers to a psychiatric process whereby clients see themselves or their problems reflected in the narratives of others in a group therapy setting.

In my source text it is used as both a noun and a verb:

Den sociale interaktion borgerne har med hinanden i grupperne kan dermed påvirke den enkelte borgers udvikling og forandring. Dette foregår bl.a. gennem spejling, anerkendelse og bevidning, hvor borgerne spejler sig i hinandens udfordringer, ideer og strategier og kan anvende dette konstruktivt i sin egen udvikling.

Erfaringen viser at deltagerne spejler sig i hinandens udfordringer, idéer og strategier, som de kan anvende på en konstruktiv måde i egen hverdag.

The client has used the term "mirroring" in one reference text and my dictionary suggests "the mirror method" as a term used within psychotherapy.
However, when I search for mirroring most of the results refer to the phenomenon of mimicry and that is also how I myself would primarily understand the term.
(I also get some results on a type of mirror therapy used for people who have lost limbs).
So the question is: what would be a correct translation which can be used in both noun and verb form?

mutual mirroring / reflecting mirroring / reflective mirroring

The social interaction the citizens have with each other in the groups can thus influence the individual citizen's development and change. This takes place i.a. through mutual mirroring / reflecting mirroring / reflective mirroring, recognition and witnessing, in which citizens see themselves reflected in each other's challenges, ideas and strategies and can apply this constructively to their own development.

Experience shows that the participants see themselves reflected in each other's challenges, ideas and strategies, which they can apply in a constructive way in their own everyday lives.

mirror transference
in self psychology, a narcissistic transference technique in which patients’ grandiose selves are reactivated as a replica of the early phase of their lives when their mothers established or undermined their sense of perfection by admiring or devaluing their exhibitionistic behavior. This “reactivation process” aims to help the patient develop healthy self-esteem. Compare idealizing transference; twinship transference.
