RF reflected protection

English to French Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng Amplificateur de puissance (DVB-T)
Setting Procedure

7. Turn the amplifier on; connect the input signal to the amplifier and regulate, by RT5, the RF in measurement read on the pc monitor;
8. Increase the applied RF in level of 2 dB, then slowly regulate RT4 until the overdrive protection intervenes; now, turn RT4 back and leave the protection OFF. Check that changing the driver level the protection intervenes at + 3dB with reference to nominal level and NOT at + 2 dB. Protection intervention is displayed on the spectrum analyzer. If not, adjusting by using RT4;

14. Regulate RT8 until **RF Reflected Protection** intervenes. The signal level on the spectrum analyzer decreases of 20dB min.
NOTE: during functioning under **RF Reflected protection** condition, the amplifier will continuously try to restart, but if this condition persists the output power will be cut off again. The spectrum analyzer will now display unusual pulses, to consider normal in this situation.
15. Disconnect SP2; the signal on the spectrum analyzer will increase, then regulate RT7 until a new
intervention of **RF Reflected Protection** will reduce it again; reconnect SP2.
16. Now, disable the amplifier and reconnect the output load; enable the module again and set the nominal output power.
NOTE: in analog application SP2 is always disconnected and **RF Reflected protection** is regulated only by RT7.
