dokuritu kenkyuu? Explanation: Sorry, my computer having problem typing in Japanese now :-( I translate quite a few research papers and the authors love to use the word "kenkyuu" for everything. | independent study 自主臨床研究 Explanation: I'd say this, instead of 試験, since Shiken implies they are only really trying-out/comparing a specific therapy (or combination) against the standard of care, and "study" could mean gathering any/many types of information that could prove useful for any reason in the future. Of course, if the 試験 meaning fits, use it! |

在野研究 Explanation: You see, the word Independent study implies "out of mainstream paradigm". Academics have their own set Paradigm, and tend to look down upon anything outside of this sphere. Hence word "Independent study" can mean "non-academic" study. Well general observation aside, let analyse some of your suggestions in Japanese. 『医師主導型臨床試験』というのは、公立研究機関によるテストではなく、民間のものという含みがあるようです。つまり学界のパラダイン(paradigm)にそわない野心的な研究テストというような。 Independent Study というのはそういう在野の研究をさすことが多いので、医師主導型臨床試験でよいのかも知れません。これはつまり一般の前線で患者に接している医師です。研究機関ではなく。 それで『自主研究』『独立研究』というのは日本語として読むほうにそういうニュアンスがよく伝わる言葉ではないでしょうか。表題は私なら選ぶだろうというところですが、きょうびはあまりはやらないかもよ。 -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2004-06-05 22:14:38 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- ちょっと文字化けあり。最後のほうの「私なら選ぶ」の前はhyoudai haと読んでください。タイトルにした訳です。医学文書なので、これまたコンテクストによります。 |

| The asker has declined this answer Comment: これはCIOMSのレポートでして、薬剤の臨床試験/市販後臨床での有害事象報告書においては、Investigator=治験担当医師、Independent Study = 医師主導型臨床試験を使用することがほぼ固定化されています。が、表題のテキスト部分が被疑薬に関するものでなかったため、少し工夫してみようかと思った次第です。在野研究は副作用情報に関する限りでは、全く見かけません。学術文献、レビューペーパーなどで使用される用語ではないでしょうか？説明不足だった点があったことをお詫びいたします。 | ||
