The Head of Department is the \'Jefe de Departamento\' they are not the same title even if they are held by the same person.

Catedrtico de Lengua Espaola
head of the Spanish Department or Spanish professor
See this:
catedrático -ca m, f
a (de la universidad) professor, head of department
b (en un colegio) head of department
So it could either be Spanish Professor of Head of the Spanish Department!
HTH

after a bit more research and thought, it could also just be as simple as
Spanish Language Lessons or Lecture!

Catedrtico de Lengua Espaola
Professor of the Spanish Languange
If it refers to a University.
Were it an Institute or School, then it could be "Head of the Spanish Language Department"
However, I don't believe it could ever be "as simple as
Spanish Language Lessons or Lecture"
