English term

profit a prendre

English to Serbian Law/Patents Real Estate
A profit a prendre is a right to take something off the land of another person. ... A profit a prendre is clearly distinguishable from an easement. In an easement there is a nonpossessory interest in land generally giving a person only a right of way on the property of another.

Dragana Rajkov-Šimić Sep 10, 2019:
Thank you I don't exactly see how this excludes the possibility of "pravo na plodove" being a possible translation; specifically I don't see how it "says otherwise". Just to be clear, I have no intention of further pressing the point, I just want to make make my views (and my comment) clear - given that the object of this whole exercise is (surely) to help a colleague translate a term he's having difficulty with, merely stating that somebody's (well-meaning) suggestion is taken from a poor source, and that there are far better ones available, without providing any such source, much less any alternative translation, seems to me to be slightly off the mark. I have absolutely nothing against being contradicted, I welcome it even, as it helps me to improve - but it's neither helping me improve, nor helping our colleague, if you actually do have a better suggestion to offer, or at least a place where we could look, but choose not to divulge the information.

Peer comment(s):

disagree Daryo : there are far better sources - that say otherwise. // they are publicly available, not exactly hiding - just a question of asking the right question to Google.

Thank you! It would be very helpful to myself and others if you could list some of those sources (provided your aim is indeed to help, not just to contradict)
