Spanish term or phrase: Obligaciones y cuentas
Hi all,

I am translating the articles of association of a Spanish Company and I'm struggling with the term "obligaciones y cuentas":

El Consejo de Administración puede realizar los siguientes actos:

(...)

Todos los actos y contratos de adquisición, enajenación, gravamen y obligación; celebrar contratos de arriendo, cobrar alquileres, recolectar y vender frutos, acudir ante las oficinas y delegaciones del Estado, satisfacer e impugnar contribuciones, EXIGIR OBLIGACIONES Y CUENTAS, IMPUGNÁNDOLAS O APROBÁNDOLAS, (...)

I'm not sure what they are referring to exactly. Are they talking about debenture, accountability, accounts...?

Any ideas? Thank you in advance

English translation:Obligations and amounts owed
Explanation:
Hi Olivia, it is standard for the Board to be able to go after or 'enforce' (exigir) the company's debts. 'Obligaciones' are essentially debts owed to the company, and since 'obligations' is a perfectly comprehensible in this context, I'd go with the more literal term. 'Cuentas' are balances reflecting amounts owed or payable.
