IOW the sound coming from a "null direction" is registered by the microphone(s) but is deliberately "reduced to null" / suppressed / deleted from the resulting sound that is sent out from this recording system.
that's a variation on the system that allows you to make a call from your mobile in strong wing or in the middle of heavy traffic - only the sound of your voice is amplified, the sound coming from elsewhere [i.e.from "null directions"] is "reduced to zero" or strongly suppressed.

J'ai hésité entre "directivité nulle" et "angle mort". Cependant le contexte fait référence à l'angle pour lequel la sensibilité (au bruit) est nulle. Or, la directivité est faible voire nulle lorsque le dispositif acoustique ne fera pas de discrimination en fonction de l'origine de la source.

: wrong translation due to wrong interpretation - these are directions from which there is sound coming - sound that that IS picked up by the mikes, but that sound is unwanted, thus "turned to zero/suppressed" by the processing software.
