The only place this turns up (so far) is for a carborundum (silicon carbide = Karborund) grinding wheel manufactured by Busch. That means that corundum (aluminium oxide = Korund) in the original sentence could well be incorrect. If I were you, I would check this with your client.


BTW: as Gudrun notes, the English on the site and in the PDFs they publish is "ziemlich haarig".

The specs D1 and L1 used by Busch obviously refer to the diameter and thickness of the wheels/discs, and the D1 value corresponds to the diameter after the 7xx number divided by ten.

Until you have confirmation from your client of what is correct, both belt and wheel could be viable options for the reasons stated.

A little more research: Jowitt in the UK does actually produce grinding wheels up to a size of 762 mm.
