Brak szerszego kontekstu, ale sądzę, że chodzi o skrót myślowy. Moim zdaniem, w wyniku wsparcia (np. spółki matki, albo rządu) rating został podwyższony o dwa punkty.
Np. sama spółka/bank miałby rating BBB-. Ale wsparcie rządowe/spółki matki zaważyło na podwyższeniu ratingu o dwa punkty do BBB+.

Dziękuję za pomoc. Myślę, że można też spokojnie przetłumaczyć na "dodatkowe punkty ratingu" albo "stopnie ratingu z tytułu wsparcia".

Asker: Tak, oczywiście, w raporcie jest mowa o wsparciu ze strony rządu i ze strony całej grupy, ale często też pojawia się samo "notches of support" (tak jak w zacytowanym przeze mnie fragmencie), na pewno chodzi o tego rodzaju wsparcie, ale zastanawiałam się, czy jest jakiś przyjęty polski odpowiednik.
