passenger or occupant sensor This would also be a good choice for part of the applications, but not all "human presence" cited in my document involves persons sitting in a seat, as they also sometimes control a vehicle by walking behind it. And I wanted to use one standard term for the entire document.

Anwesenheitssensoren I used the "human presence detector (or sensor)", since it seemed to fit "wie die Faust aufs Auge." And the article you provided with the URL, only reinforced my choice.

agree JTLingos : or passenger detector - since it is referring to the automotive field, I would agree with this as opposed to Human Presence Detector as mentioned above, as that has more to do with general sensing, such as in buildings
