French term

en date

French to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Systems, Networks Safety procedure management procedure
I have seen that this means non-return date in IT parlance but don't understand how to incorporte this concept into this phrase:

"Documents associés (à la procédure):
- Cahier des charges achat ***en date***
- Etiquettage pour le suivi des tests à réception
- Matrice des prélèvements
- Base de données..."

Purchasing specifications, non-return principle?
Specifications, non-return purchase?

Any suggestions welcome. Many thanks!

Discussion

Nikki Scott-Despaigne Jun 14, 2012:
Without further context, we cannot say it is not that - however probable it may seem - just as we cannot affirm that it is.
Kiwiland Bear Jun 14, 2012:
I was about to put it as an answer... ...when I noticed the last discussion entry above.

I believe the correct term is "as at" or"as of" [date]

Laurence, want to enter it as an answer?
Laurence Fogarty Jun 14, 2012:
In this case, and following Nikki's lead, I would put "Purchasing Specifications as of date".
Nikki Scott-Despaigne Jun 14, 2012:
You generally see this as follows :
"en date du 14 juin 2012" (dated 14th June 2012)
"...le dernier en date." (...the last one to date.)
Not sure how this can be used alone.
Maybe it's intended as a standard form adn the date is to be added, as in my first example.

is any date provided??

Imho

What I understand is " The date of receipt for item purchased"!
Note from asker:
Thanks, Salih, but I don't think this is it. Could it be Purchase Specifications at THIS date (i.e. the date of the document I am translating or the date the document is signed)? Or perhaps Purchase Specifications dated.... (blankety blank - to be filled in)? Would this make sense in French?
Peer comment(s):

disagree philgoddard : Makes no sense.

disagree Kiwiland Bear : Understanding is close enough, but translation... a total miss.
