English term

The appliance complies with EC directive 89/336 governing radio suppression.

English to Spanish Tech/Engineering
This is a manual for a refrigerator. Obviously, it complies with EC directives, but....what is 'radio suppression'??
Thanks in advance. For your info..these units are made in Italy but are sold in the USA.

Sorry...in english: This refers to the interferences made by all appliances in the electromagnetic spectrum (which obviously interferes with radio & TV) - in Europe, these devices require a protection so as to minimize such interference.

Such compliance is justified by a label attached at the back or the bottom of the appliance. (I just checked the bottom of my laptop, & indeed it has a reference to CE 89/336! ;-)

\"suppression\" is more than \"interference\"

Note the definition of \"suppression\" in the Random House Dictionary

See definition 5 above for \"radio\"

He enviado el comentario demasiado pronto, creo.

Hi, Mike: you can \"acatar\" una orden, but can never \"acatar\" una directiva. And objects cannot \"acatar\" nothing at all:

1 tr.

I wouldn\'t trust much a bilingual dictionary.
