Estoy traduciendo una patente sobre sistemas de filtración y en ella aparece este término, tanto como verbo como sustantivo, que no sé muy bien cómo traducir. ¿Podría tratatarse de exposición o concentración? ¿Alguna sugerencia?

Estos son algunos ejemplos donde aparece:

Teniendo en cuenta el significado normal de Challenge y la naturaleza del texto, creo que podría tratarse de Probados/Pruebas o cualquier otro sinónimo con este significado. Es decir: "[...] probado con E.Coli" o "[...] pasaron por el filtro antes de las pruebas subsiguientes".
