Portuguese term
giros
Portuguese to English
Social Sciences
Psychology
The client tells me that this is an expression of (or a reference to) Freud:
Análise de associações, de deslocamentos, das tensões, dos giros, e das próprias expressões produzidas durante as entrevistas...
This refers to sociological studies and interviews.
I would actually like everyone's opinions of the whole phrase, but "giros" is the word that's really giving me a hard time in this context.
Thanks

Eu traduziria assim. Até onde sei, o termo "giro" não é um conceito específico em Freud, mas parece-me que se trata da idéia de reviravoltas, mudanças de perspectiva e significado.
Eu traduziria a frase toda da seguinte forma:
"Analisys of the associations, displacements*, tensions, turns and the very expressions used during the interviews..."
* "displacement" é a tradução da edição Standard das obras completas de Freud para o termo original alemão "Verschiebung".

Note from asker:
This makes the most sense to me, and I like the fact that you specialize in this area. That was my biggest concern. (The client also recommended the term "reviravolta" as a synonym, but I had forgotten to mention that in my original post.) I'll select your answer when the requisite 24 hours have passed. Thanks. |
