English term or phrase: bench strength
A human resources term taken originally from team sports, I think. The quote is "Assessment of overall level of bench strength through determination of individual potential". It refers to the depth and breadth of talent or competency within a particular staff level for the purposes of performance appraisal. I had thought of something like "étendue des compétences", but I'd like something catchier!
