Hi all
I am translating a grade transcript and have come across this term in the following phrase: 'mit erhöhtem Stundenausmass' It's a footnote on the transcript relating to some of the subjects in question. I wonder if 'time extension' is the correct term? I would appreciate your advice.
Thank you.

increased teaching time / additional lessons
I'm pretty sure this refers to the Austrian "Pflichtgegenstände mit erhöhtem Stundenausmaß", in other words compulsory modules with added teaching time or lessons. I would be careful not to translate it as hours, as Stunden does not necessarily mean a lesson is 60 minutes.

Comment: "Thanks very much to everyone for the helpful suggestions!"
1 hr
extra time
In Britain, it is common practice in external exams to offer extra time to pupils with learning difficulties. This may be what is meant here. I would translate the whole phrase as "with extra time (being) given"
1 hr
with a higher number of hours
(subject) with a higher number of hours.
To me as a native German speaker "erhöhter Stundenausmass" simply means that you have more hours of this subject per week or in total.

1 hr
greater allocation of hours
If we are referring to the length of the course, then this would be a more usual translation

German term (edited):
mit erhöhtem Stundenausmass
with a greater number of credit hours
Credit hour is the unit by which an institution measures its course work. The number of credit hours assigned to a course quantitatively reflects the outcomes expected, the mode of instruction, the amount of time spent in class, and the amount of outside preparatory work expected for the class.

If a course is dropped during the first two weeks of the semester, or the first week of the Summer term, there is no tuition charge if a course is added with an equal or greater number of credit hours.

: yes, although "extra credit hours" sounds better for a transcript
2 hrs

Sure, calling it 'extra' or 'additional' would make the formulation shorter + crisper. Thanks, lirka.

4 hrs
with additional hours
That leaves open the question of what kind of hours we are talking about: remedial/credit/classroom/study/teaching hours
22 hrs
supplementary lessons/(study)hours
This would cover bothe advanced and remedial lessons as well as just about any education level.
