I am stumped as to what "de jour" means in an adverse event report that I am translating:

Because you can also sleep during the day. // Yes according to the cardiology dpt.

I think it means for a day. If the rhythm is unstable it is unlikely they would monitor only during the day.

In my experience, after the pacemaker is inserted, the patient is monitored for a day. If there are anomalies, longer monitoring or adjustment or medication is required.

: just for a day? Or during the day? Which do you mean? BTW, they may monitor 24/7, but the anomaly is only present "de jour." // Thank you for your response to my comment. Now I understand what you meant... But – just my opinion, FWIW – I don't agree.

24 hours represents a day as used in hospital jargon. The 24 hour clock is used in military services and hospitals. De jour is the same thing as a day:
