German term

Hände

German to English Marketing Retail Loyalty programme
This term appears in the terms and conditions for a company's loyalty programme aimed at its wholesale and retail agents.

My question is whether there is a specific meaning other than the obvious for 'Hände' in this context. It may just be simply that the bonus points are represented by the image/symbol of hands, though the company website does not feature hands anywhere nor do they particularly relate to the products concerned. However, I just wanted to check that 'Hände' are not some form of sub-set of bonus points.

@ Max Thanks for the confirmation from a native speaker.

thats weird, i can see why you have a problem. ive never heard of that kind of use of hände. the only alternate meaning of hände i can think of is in a card playing context which obviously wouldnt make sense here.
though it does seem a bit like the paragraph you posted is supposed to be an explanation of what hände are.... ie. hands might actually be a proper translation here, although it might be kind of risky going with that

Hands

Assuming the links I have found do actually refer to the same system as in your translation, then hands it is!

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "I checked with my client and this is indeed exactly the kind of thing they are operating! I doubt the glossary needs this!!"

Golden Hand Club

Hello Helen,

I found the following which may help. It does indeed seem to be referring to actual hands (see second link) and is part of a system run by a company that sells paper (hand-)towels, among other things - they also refer to "Global Handwashing Day" on their website.

Thanks, Colin, this is probably what is going on. I just thought I'd better check. My document may have images which have not been sent to me which make the text clearer.
